One of the best times I have during the summer months is when we go to the marina. We don’t have our own boat so we rent one for the day. The boats are surprisingly cheap for the day so we rent by the day instead of by the hour. My husband loves to watch shows on the boating and fishing channels that we got with one of the satellite deals, so the days we go out to the lake are big days for him because he loves being on the water so much.
There are all kinds of places to stop the boat and explore once we are on the water. We find little islands and sunbathe or fish for a while. Once we were able to get a boat that was equipped with water skiing gear and we did that all day. We always have a ton of food and drinks for the day in our cooler for guests and kids, which is fun for me to prepare.
One time after boating we went to the restaurant at the marina, which was a wonderful surprise for us all because the food was so good. Next time we go, we are going to bring tents and rent the boat for two days instead of one so that we can spend the night by the water.
